SWSM vas po predolgih pocitnicah zopet pozdravlja in vam
prinasam, po zaslugi izjav profijev, kar nekaj branja:

Kaj bodo poceli Slovenci s ciframi na jadrih?

Koncno je postalo jasno. Tudi letos bodo lahko tekmovali!
SLO pokal v jadranju na deski bodo letos predstavljale tri regate. In
sicer dve hrvaski (Preluka 9.6. - 11.6. in Peljesac 26.7. - 1.8.) ter tretja
tekma, ki bo predvidoma septembra v Sloveniji. Bog nam daj se vetra!

Prva regata pri sosedih pa je/ni za nami

Na prvi hrvaski regati v Zadru med velikonocnimi prazniki niso naredili
nic, ker so postavljali polje tako dolgo, da je nehalo pihati.
Veter so tako, po besedah Stojana Vidakovica, zamutili kar dvakrat.

Ce vas mogoce ne zanima ...

Exel Oys (Exel), proizvajalec visoko kvalitetnih kompozitnih sportnih
izdelkov je najavil skorajsen prevzem korporacije Fiberspar, torej
izdelovalca kvalitetnih izdelkov za windsurfing, hokej in navtiko.
Exel (s sedezem na Finskem) je posle prevzel v svoje roke s 1. majem.

The Denzel Windsurf Freestyle Grand Prix

Z veliko zamudo vam sporocamo rezultate prve letosnje freestyle
tekme pod okriljem PWA z Neusiedlerskega jezera v Avstriji, ki se
je koncala 29. aprila 2000.
V konkurenci najboljsih  freestylerjev na svetu sta zmagala
Web Pedrick (US 002) in Colette Guadagnino (V 711). Med zenskami
sta manjkali sestri Moreno, ki sta se vedno druzno poskodovani,
pri moskih pa ni manjkal prvi nosilec Josh stone (USA 6), ki pa je pod
pritiskom publike in medijev zalostno pogorel in zasedel le 2. mesto.
Tretji je bil Matt Pritchard (US 10). Pri zenskah je bila druga Antonia Frey
(GR-1) , tretja pa Karin Jaggi (Z 14). (tk)

Web Pedrick -
"An unbelievable experience you know, my first big Grand Prix here and to
win
it is just insane! The parties have been pretty good too, the hacky-sack
tennis has been fun we got some buzz going - you know. It's just about
having
fun this whole thing, everyone from the tour is here and its good
camaraderie
and everyone's just thinking the same way having as much fun as possible and
it's been amazing. To win, I just can't believe it."

Josh Stone -
"The event was really good, I'm super happy that we got three rounds off,
and
I'm very stoked for the organiser and the sponsors of the event because it
was one of the best events we've ever had in Austria by far. Tons of people
showed up, the crowd was great, I'm not super stoked with myself for my
performance but it is the lake and that's the hardest place for me so I feel
pretty confident for the rest of the year carrying a second place from the
lake is not that bad. I'm looking forward to the next event in Zandvoort
which is an ocean event and I especially was impressed with Web Pedrick
coming into his first Grand Prix and winning it shows that the boy has a
very
good shot at being the champion, we'll have to see how the year goes."

Ossi Krupitz -
"In had a very good time, it's a very great thing for me and I never thought
that it would come to this, finishing fourth in such an event with such
competition and in the next few days I will understand what happened here.
This event is very, very important for Austrian windsurfers and the whole
sport in Austria to let the youth in and show the youth this is a sport they
can enjoy. Because we always used to go on race material and that wasn't so
interesting for the youth and now we have skaters and snowboarders and
skiers
coming into our movement."

Colette Guadagnino -
"It's been great, everything has been well organised, we got some good wind
and we got three rounds, you couldn't ask for more. I did pretty good I
guess, it wasn't easy there was some tough competition, all the girls are
sailing really well, but I'm really pleased, I worked hard, I've been
training really hard, so it's really good. There is a lot more women into
freestyle and they're going off a lot more. Last year was the first
freestyle
that we ever had so they got an idea of what it was about and they've been
training quite a bit so hopefully the more we do it the more we all get
familiar with it and the more it will grow for the women. The twins are
gonna
be in Fuerteventura and I know they're sailing just as well you know,
they're
sailing great so it's gonna be a good event in Fuerte, good action."

Toni Frey -
"It's been a successful competition, a bit like Sylt with a lot of people
watching the competition, it's incredible. A lot of people from Vienna come
to watch the contest and it's like a big holiday for them and the
competition
was just next to the beach, so close, like the indoors, like so close. I did
OK, I feel I can go much better I think, I tried my best and it was the
first
contest but for the last three weeks I didn't sail cos there was no wind but
I trained all the winter, two months in Maui, two months in South Africa, so
I guess the next one is gonna be even better."

Karin Jaggi -
"It was one of the best events we ever had, perfect sunny weather, summer
temperatures already in spring, and we still had the low pressures with some
wind so for the sport, the public, for everything together it was just
perfect. For myself it was a little bit up and down, I had some maybe not so
good heats and in the end third is perhaps a little bit disappointing, but I
gave my best and I didn't sail too bad. We are still not anywhere close to
the guys level but we need some time to get started, you saw how important
it
was to get the women here, the press the public everyone was very happy to
have us here and I just hope it's gonna continue like that. With that I
think
we are gonna get more girls into it and then our level will improve. I'd say
for the moment there is probably five or six girls who could win every event
and right here it was Colette doing very, very well, maybe in Canaries it's
gonna be all different again when we move down sail sizes and in two months
everything could look different again. For the moment I'm really happy for
Colette to have done that well and I'm gonna give my best in Canaries
again."

GRUPNO ceneje v Grcijo!!!

Anek (ladijski prevoz v Grcijo) surfacem letos velikodusno poklanja
20 % popusta na svoje storitve. Kako? Preprosto, samo 25 komadov
se mora prijaviti za isti datum odhoda (in seveda vrnitve). Ce to zanima
